Hello there,
I'm feeling pretty good as I write this because I'm an extreme introvert. I'd rather watch people than be the center of attention or actively engage in conversation.
But despite my struggles, there are times when I'm courageous enough to put myself out there and try to connect with others. Unfortunately, I often end up in awkward
conversations.
You see, I'm polite to a fault. It's really hard for me to cut conversations short, even when my brain is screaming at me to escape. I end up listening to people ramble on for ten, twenty, even thirty minutes, even though I've barely said a word.
But I've found a solution, and it's surprisingly simple. All you have to do is say something like, "Hey, it was great to meet you, but I have to get going now," while extending your hand for a
handshake.
This is a great social indication that you're leaving, and most of the time, the other person will shake your hand and let you go.
It's a polite way to end a conversation that's dragging on too long, and it's worked wonders for me.
So if you're an introvert like me, give it a try and let me know how it goes. Your inner introvert will thank you.
Anyway, it was great talking to
you.
Oh, and before I go, check out what I have lined up for you here.
Adios!
