I've been dragged kicking and screaming into the world of email marketing, but I've learned a thing or two along the way.
If you're like me, you want to build a more profitable email list without sacrificing your sense of humor or your sanity.
That's why I'm sharing the 5 simple steps to doing just that.
Step one: Don't be boring.
Seriously, nobody wants to read a boring email.
Spice things up with some jokes, memes, or GIFs. Just make sure they're appropriate for your audience. We don't need another "Deadpool"
situation.
Step two: Use a catchy subject line.
Think of it like a movie poster for your email. It needs to be attention-grabbing, but not misleading.
Nobody likes clickbait, except for those weirdos who click on "10 Celebrities You Won't Believe Are Aliens".
Step three: Offer something of
value.
Maybe it's a discount code, a free e-book, or just some helpful tips.
Whatever it is, make sure it's something your audience wants and needs. If you're not sure what that is, ask them!
Step four: Make it easy to unsubscribe.
I know, this sounds counterintuitive, but hear me out. If someone wants to unsubscribe from your list, let
them.
It's better than having them mark you as spam or just ignoring your emails altogether.
Step five: Keep it short and sweet.
Nobody has time to read a novel-length email. Get to the point, make it entertaining, and send them on their way.
So there you have it, folks.
