It was late fall, my buddy and I finished an intense basketball game and
to finish off the night we walked to Mcdonald's because it's just a few steps away from the gym.
As we get close I see a man crouched over and smiling. What I found weird about that smile is that it was a serene smile that was missing something which is the norm in our society.
TEETH!
The dude which happened to be homeless had some missing teeth!
We talked a bit a soon realized he's a passionate musician and painter who is very hilarious!
My friend and I got him some food and as we were leaving he wanted us to stay a little longer. We couldn't because it was close to mid night and we both had to head to work early the next day.
What he said next shocked me. He said...
"What kind of life demands you to wake up butt early by a f****ing alarm clock only to rush out, fight traffic, work for someone who makes a lot more money than you. The f***ed up part about it is that you are the one who makes that money but you only keep a small percentage of it while your boss gets rich. Then you fight traffic to get home, you're tired, unhappy and then go to sleep to do
the same sh*t over again the next day. F*** that!"
This guy lives in the streets and perfectly explained how I felt about my job at a pizzaria. I have to say that gave me extra motivation to get out of the rat race.
I currently hold an IT job that pays a lot more then my previous job, but now I take 10 minutes a day to write an email and earn enough to pay my bills as well as my mother's.
If I lose or quit my job I'll still be stress free.
Which is good!
